Example of the Ultimate Access InterChange Software!

This is the only form the user will ever need and use to access all available tasks in the database. Tasks include Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports, Macros, Hyperlinks, Code etc. The network name of user would appear in top right corner depending on network. Important - All the information on this form is defined by the database administrator and can be whatever is desired. It can be used on existing or new databases. This is just a brief example of what can be done.access-database-management-system

First the user would pick a category of tasks to choose from.

Once a category is selected a Long Description would appear for that category.

Next the user would look for the task they wish to perform from this category. This particular category is broken into 5 sub categories: Data, Export, Report, Table and Special Data.

Task Drop Down

Explanation of items in Task List above:

    1. Task Name – Selection of tasks to perform.
    2. Due Date – Next open due date for task if applicable. Unknown means due date is missing for that task. Blank means that a due date is not applicable for that task.
    3. Category – First 5 characters of category.
    4. Type of Task – Options are (T)able, (Q)uery, (F)orm, (R)eport, (M)acro, (H)yperlink, (O)ther. “Other” could include any type of code.
    5. Task ID-Report Number – Task ID is an automated unique numbering of each task separated by dash and then Internal Company Report Number for Task.

Once a task is selected Long Description would appear for that task. Now the user can press the “Perform” button to open the task.

We have filtering covered also. In this task example there is a filter for the Rep Name. More filters can be added if necessary and are specific to the task selected.

This provides a much more quick and efficient way to navigate tasks and interchange to other tasks than the Microsoft Access Switchboard or Microsoft Access Navigation Form.
